Happy Karaoke Fun Time is a musically improvised show where improv and Karaoke come together to create a world in which scenes explode into popular songs you’ll recognize with lyrics you won’t, made up entirely on the spot!

Chris Gorton
Chris had hopped around the Western Hemisphere for the past 10 years calling New Jersey, Wisconsin, Canada (briefly), Oregon, California (briefly), a cruise ship in South America, New York City, and now Chicago home. In every destination he has found a way to sing. After years of musical theater in high school and college, Chris switched over to college a cappella music where he had the privilege to sing with the University of Wisconsin MadHatters. From there he returned to his musical theater roots at the Very Little Theater in Eugene, Oregon, until a fateful phone call placed him on a cruise ship in South America singing doo-wop music. And throughout it all there was always Karaoke! Upon his return to the States, Chris found the world of improvised comedy. He studied both improv and musical improv at the Magnet Theater in New York City until the call of Chicago brought him west. He is currently studying as part of Second City’s Musical Conservatory program, and performs throughout the city on a number of independent teams and with Comedy Sportz’ Rec League. Chris would like to thank HKFT for giving him the opportunity to put together the holy trinity of his loves, musical theater, improv, and karaoke.
